Following the dedication of the Distinguished Flying Cross monument at the Palm Springs Air Museum in 2004, Lee Stanley started his search for a location for a Missing Airman Monument and with the help of the Capt. Richard Parker AAC RET.family and the Airpot Commission he was able to get the Monument located at the Palm Springs International Airport It was dedicated at 11 AM on Veterans day Nov. 11th 2006 and many air combat veterans from five different wars were there for personal dedication, headed by Col. James Braden holder of the Distinguished Flying Cross and current chief of staff of the Marine base at Twenty Nine Palms
